We are standing in support of renewing the California Avocado Commission (CAC) marketing order. We are aware of an active campaign to discredit and abolish CAC but without the CAC there would be no California-specific advertising or research. No organization is perfect but walking away from our marketing order is not a prudent way to affect industry policies and fruit returns. If there are problems concerned growers should address the Board and/or the district director, they elected.
We have a robust marketing arm guided by a Board of Directors that are elected by us and they need your input and support. Join the undersigned in voting YES on the CAC referendum to ensure the viability of California’s avocado industry.
The CAC referendum is managed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Ballots must be postmarked by March 17, 2021. If you are an eligible producer and did not receive a ballot, please contact CDFA Marketing Branch staff at (916) 900-5018.
